The problem I have when writing such things is really portraying the importance of the event to me. I can say the words but I know it doesn't quite mean the same to other people. I lived 15 miles out in the desert. Nobody came to see me. I always had to go see them. But there they were, on the only night I had ever considered suicide. One stoked the fire, one split the chicken, one opened the wine. And we laughed and told stories. I was reminded of how full life was. And that I was an integral part of that fullness.
