Earning the Eagle Scout rank is the only thing you can list on your resume at 50 that you did when you where 14. -Randy Pausch, the Last Lecture.

Scott Hudson of Belleville, IL took a little longer than most. But with perseverance and a great mom, he became an Eagle Scout last Sunday, at age 36.
Hudson’s family returned from military duty in Germany just after he had completed his Eagle project. He never got his Scoutmaster conference and Board of Review. He lived with the disappointment for 18 years until he found out about the appeals process from a parent of one of his students.
Enter the Mom-Who-Saves-Scout-Stuff. Hudson appeal to the National Council and had all the evidence he needed because his mother kept it all (and his wife let him lug it around through several moves.)
Hudson felt it was important to follow up on the award. He and his wife have adopted a child from Viet Nam and want to be good examples.

Wow. That’s so awesome. I have such mixed feelings when it comes to Scouting. Mostly very good, but a few, that are not so good.

Yes, like any organization run by humans, Scouting has some warts.
